Meeting Schedule

The Cedar Rapids City Council typically meets on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. Towards the end of the year, meetings are adjusted to the first and third Tuesdays to avoid holiday conflicts.

Location

Meetings are held in the Council Chambers on the third floor of City Hall, located at 101 First Street SE.

Public Participation

The public is encouraged to attend. Opportunities to address the Council include:

  • Public Hearings: Speak on specific agenda items without prior sign-up.
  • Public Comment Period: Discuss scheduled agenda topics; advance sign-up required.
  • Public Input Period: Address issues relevant to the City but not on the agenda; advance sign-up required.

Agendas and Documents

Agendas and packets are posted on the Friday before each meeting, typically around 4:00 p.m.

Broadcasts

Meetings are aired on local public access channels:

  • ImOn Communications: Channel 6 on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m.
  • Mediacom Communications: Channel 4 on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. and Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
